I study faces. I study light. I love to have fun. I bring all that together,
wait for an honest moment, and make a photograph. That's what I do.
I work in Aspen and LA shooting portraits that range from editorial to families,
catalogs, and authors. I emphasize lighting and a very relaxed atmosphere
so my subjects can be their best.
Some people feel a portrait sitting is like a trip to the dentist.
I'm amazed at the number of perfectly lovely people that think they look funny
or don't "take a good picture." I've told many people, "If you hate getting your picture taken,
I'm your man." I get it. I know how to change the experience from dread to fun.
Everyone can look great. Everyone has a story. At the end of a five-hour day
actor Kevin Costner shook my hand and said, "Man, thanks for making that easy."
It's my job to find the element that makes someone special and capture it in a photograph.
That's what I do.
